RibFest
What: Community Advocates Ribfest is shaping up to be a great weekend, filled with special events, great music, and of course the best ribs. Right now we are getting ready to launch an eating contest that is sponsored by Park Street Market with the support of Spartan Stores. We know, an eating contest? Well, a lot of the Ribfests throughout the country do it, and we thought it would be fun to watch. So, watch Facebook for the announcement (yes, that means you need to "like" us in order to get the scoop. The event will be announced after July 11. Only 24 contestants can sign up. The musical entertainment is going to be superb. Great White will take the stage on Saturday along with fabulous bands both befor and after. On Friday, the music is geared to those who love to dance in the streets and have a great time. The Rock Show will perform an 80's Tribute show and then a Journey Tribute Show (which is awesome). Then Love Sick Radio (who tour college campuses throughout the United States) is coming to Kalamazoo for a "party at Ribfest" have a fabulous time. The band is amazing and you will be surprised at how they appeal to ALL ages. We are trying something different on Thursday night and reaching out to our youth by bringing in two national bands called Attaboy and Leo. Their music is classified as Christian Rock, but they appeal to all genres. This is an all-ages family night where youth can be treated to an amazing concert for only $5. On site, we are hosting a Market Tent where a limited number of vendors can sell their product. The goal is to raise money to support Community Advocates, as well as provide a quality product to the attendees. A committee will review the product submissions. If you are interested, please contact us at 269-388-2830 or email at deb@eventkalamazoo.com. If you have a great prize to donate and want the publicity, we are asking for Raffle Prize donations that have a value of $400 or more. Tons of publicity, and you will be donating to a great cause.
