Lakes of Fire What:IT WAS ON FIRE WHEN WE GOT HERE. Lakes of Fire is a collaborative celebration of art, fire, music, and friendship that takes place on the last full weekend of June, every year. Lakes of Fire 2012 (It Was On Fire When We Got Here) as always, will be for you, and by you, starring you and your incredible creativity. Lake of Fire 2012 is the Great Lakes Region's official Burning Man Regional Event, and is conducted in accordance with the 10 Principles. You’ll enjoy outdoor camping, both in theme camps and in open camping settings; music, a glorious effigy, large and small scale art both fiery and otherwise, a carnival atmosphere, and that creative energy and wild spirit you always bring. Your new late-June home includes a freshwater, no-wake, no-gas-motor lake with over a mile of shoreline; catch and release fishing; but no lifeguards, so be well aware that you swim at your own risk.
