DESCRIPTION:
Lion’s Park Beach is located within walking distance of downtown St. Joseph and has minimal crowds. Other than the close proximity to the downtown area this beach does not have much to offer. The sand is very rocky and there are numerous sand drop-offs. There are also many jetties in the water, which combined with the drop-offs, offer some close quarters for beach goers. Lion’s Park Beach has many desirable features, but is not of superb quality. This beach has minimal parking, but what is available is free. There are also charcoal grills and covered picnic areas to enjoy as well as a play area for children. Lion’s Park Beach also offers a great view of St. Joseph’s North Pier Lighthouse.
