DESCRIPTION:
Silver Beach is located just below the bluff in downtown St. Joseph and is the most popular beach among tourists and locals. This is a large beach and has something to offer for everyone in the family. There are two play areas, indoor bathrooms, covered picnic areas, numerous volleyball nets and lifeguards on duty. There is also a food location, which offers burgers, fries, ice cream and many other options. Silver Beach has pier access, which is great for going on a stroll or fishing and a great view of St. Joseph’s North Pier Lighthouse. Parking at the beach is $6 for Berrien County Residents and $8 for others (this fills up quickly on busy weekends), but there is plenty of free parking above the bluff. Silver Beach is also only steps away from the Silver Beach Center which offers the interactive Whirlpool Compass Fountain, the Silver Beach Carousel and the Curious Kids Museum Discovery Zone.
